Google revealed its Pixel 8 series last year, comprising the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro. Now, there’s anticipation for the more budget-friendly Pixel 8a, slated for a May release. A sneak peek of its retail box has surfaced online, showcasing design details, charging capabilities, and its model number.
Leaked images from a private Facebook group, courtesy of user Hung Nv, give us a glimpse of the Pixel 8a’s packaging. The device appears to feature rounded corners, slightly more rounded than its predecessor, and a rectangular camera island housing a dual rear camera setup, akin to the Pixel 7a.

The images also reveal the placement of the power button and volume rockers on the right side, with the Google logo centered on the rear panel. The device is labeled with the model number G6GPR and is expected to support 27W wired fast charging, as indicated on the packaging.
The leaked packaging showcases the Black color variant, with dimensions likely around 152.1 x 72.6 x 8.9 mm. Geekbench listings suggest the Pixel 8a will run on an unblocked Tensor G3 chipset paired with a Mali G715 GPU, achieving respectable single-core and multi-core scores in benchmark tests.
