Google’s Pixel Fold 2 the second-generation Pixel Fold, slated for release later this year. A recent leak offers a sneak peek at what could be the Pixel Fold 2’s design. The leaked image showcases the Pixel Fold 2 with its cover screen and back panel exposed. Notable differences include a narrower cover screen compared to its predecessor and a form factor reminiscent of the OnePlus Open.
The Pixel Fold 2 boasts rounded inner and outer displays, housed within a sleek aluminum frame. Despite its slim profile, the crease inherent to foldable screens remains visible.
A significant departure in design is the rear camera module, which deviates from the elongated camera bar of the original Pixel Fold. Instead, the Pixel Fold 2 is rumored to feature a rectangular camera setup in the top-left corner, housing four sensors. These may include a primary wide-angle lens, an ultra-wide-angle lens, a periscope telephoto lens, and an additional sensor, possibly for temperature monitoring.
Expected to debut alongside the Pixel 9 and Pixel 9 Pro in October, the Pixel Fold 2 is anticipated to sport the Tensor G4 chipset, distinguishing it from the Tensor G3 featured in the Pixel 8 series. As a result, a new Google foldable may not be unveiled at this year’s I/O conference.
