This news was confirmed by Apple himself in his official notes on iOS 16.4 RC released to developers and beta his testers on Tuesday. As the company describes it, Voice Isolation prioritizes “blocking out your voice and the noise around you” during calls. Previously, this mode was primarily available only for FaceTime calls.
If you already have iOS 16.4 installed on your iPhone, you can enable audio isolation for cellular calls as follows. Voice Isolation option in the list
- Start a phone call with someone
- During the call, open the Control Center on your iPhone
- Tap Mic Mode
- Choose the Voice Isolation option from the list
With this mode enabled, iPhone blocks out external noise and focuses on your voice. If you want to disable this mode, repeat the same steps and select the Default option from the list.
