The NVIDIA AI Summit, held at the Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai, marked a significant milestone in India’s AI journey. During the summit, NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang and Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani announced a groundbreaking partnership to build a large-scale AI infrastructure in India.

The collaboration aims to deploy NVIDIA’s latest GB 200 supercomputer technology, which will serve as the backbone for this ambitious project. Reliance Industries plans to leverage this infrastructure to make AI more affordable and accessible across India, similar to how Jio revolutionized mobile data.

Ambani emphasized India’s potential to become a global leader in AI, envisioning a future where “hundreds of millions of Indians contribute to the global AI landscape”. Huang echoed this sentiment, highlighting India’s vast pool of technical talent, immense data resources, and large population as key advantages for AI leadership.

The partnership aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision for India to add value to its data and develop indigenous AI capabilities. Both leaders praised the government’s digital transformation initiatives and expressed optimism about India’s role in the new intelligence age.

This collaboration is expected to accelerate India’s AI capabilities and position the country as a major exporter of AI services, transforming industries and driving economic growth.
