Microsoft has recently released the Windows 11 Version 24H2 October 2024 Update, bringing a host of new features and improvements to enhance your computing experience. Key Features
- Copilot Key Settings now configure the Copilot key on your keyboard to open a different app. This feature is available in Settings > Personalization > Text Input.
- Notifications Suggestions can now stop the suggestions to turn off notifications from certain apps directly from a notification or by going to Settings > System > Notifications.
- A new Gamepad keyboard layout for the on-screen keyboard has been introduced, which can be controlled with an Xbox controller. And The Wi-Fi password dialog now features the Windows 11 visual design, making it more user-friendly.
- The Narrator now includes a shortcut to copy the last spoken content to the clipboard by pressing the Narrator key + Ctrl + X. And also auto-read the contents of an email message in the new Outlook for Windows app.
- New Enhanced Privacy Controls have been added to manage which apps have access to the list of Wi-Fi networks around you. An easy way to extend battery life and reduce energy use that can be configured to run automatically or toggled on and off manually via Quick Settings.
- Improved Update Fundamentals includes reduced installation time, restart time, and CPU usage for Windows monthly updates. Finally New SMB Protocol Changes Enhancements to the Server Message Block (SMB) protocol, including firewall rule changes, support for blocking NTLM, and SMB over QUIC3.
