The Xiaomi 15 series is confirmed to launch at the end of October. The Xiaomi 15 will be the first to showcase this advanced chipset in global markets outside China. According to Zeng, the Xiaomi 15 will integrate Snapdragon 8 Elite with Xiaomi’s innovative HyperCore technology. This combination is designed to optimize performance, graphics, networking, and security, reducing power consumption by 29.7% and enabling the device to run 3 degrees Celsius cooler at peak temperatures compared to its predecessors.
Qualcomm Debuts Snapdragon 8 Elite
On Monday, Qualcomm introduced its cutting-edge Snapdragon 8 Elite system-on-chip (SoC) at the Summit 2024 event in Maui. This powerful chipset is set to redefine smartphone performance, and Xiaomi’s senior vice president, Adam Zeng, announced that the upcoming Xiaomi 15 will be the first to harness this new technology. The Xiaomi 15, succeeding the Xiaomi 14, is slated for an unveiling by the end of this month.
Advanced Architecture and Performance
The Snapdragon 8 Elite is built using TSMC’s 3nm process, featuring prime cores clocked at a blazing 4.32GHz. Unveiled at Qualcomm’s annual Snapdragon Summit in Hawaii, the chipset includes a dedicated Hexagon neural processing unit (NPU), the second-generation custom-built Qualcomm Oryon CPU, and an enhanced AI image signal processing (ISP) unit.
